Ageing is simply is the process of becoming older including during which structural and functional changes accumulate in organism that result in decline of organism’s peak fertility and physiological function until death for the hope is that one day these findings will be translated into strategies or treatments to prevent, delay, or slow age-related diseases.

The causes of ageing are uncertain current theories suggests accumulation of damage such as DNA oxidation may cause biological systems to fail, or to the programmed ageing or DNA methylation cause problems with the internal processes.

Antibodies are multi-faceted proteins that are capable of an array of important functions. They play a critical role in immune protection against invading pathogens and also play a role in a variety of clinically relevant inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Many vaccines also induce neutralizing antibodies as a correlate of protection targeting infectious disease agents, immunoglobulin effector function, antibody engineering, antibody structure, and pre-clinical antibody development.

Biomaterials interacting with the body to influencing biological processes toward the goal of tissue regeneration. Typically, three individual groups of biomaterials, ceramics, synthetic polymers and natural polymers, are used in the fabrication of scaffolds for tissue engineering. The developing field of tissue engineering (TE) aims to regenerate damaged tissues by combining cells from the body with highly porous scaffold biomaterials, which act as templates for tissue regeneration, to guide the growth of new tissue.

Agriculture Biotechnology is an area of agricultural science involving the use of scientific tools and techniques, including  genetic engineering is one aspect of agricultural biotechnology which has been greatly developed upon in recent times. Desired trait is exported from a particular species of Crop to an entirely different species. These transgene crops possess desirable characteristics in terms of flavour, colour of flowers, growth rate, size of harvested products and resistance to diseases and pests.

Biochemical engineering is a branch of chemical engineering which applies technological advancements to biological materials. It mainly deals with the design, construction, and advancement of unit processes that involve biological organisms or organic molecules and has various applications in areas of interest such as biofuels, food, pharmaceuticals , biotechnology, and water treatment processes.

Biocatalysis is “the use of natural substances to speed up (catalyze) chemical reactions”. In most cases, a group of proteins called enzymes will be carrying out the catalysis, but a combination of enzymes as well as cells can be used. These enzymes can be taken from the cell, either from the original cell or from a different cell that was modified to produce the enzyme. This has enabled the development of enzymes that can catalyze novel small molecule transformations that may be difficult or impossible using classical synthetic organic chemistry.

Biofuel, any fuel that is derived from biomass - plant or algae material or animal waste and considered to be a source of renewable energy, unlike fossil fuels such as petroleum, coal, and natural gas. Biofuels can work as an alternative to replacing energy needs from vehicle fuel to central home heating. Biofuel is commonly advocated as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly as other increase concern over global warming due to fossil fuels.

Biological medicinal products contain an active substance that is derived from a biological source such as a bacterium or yeast. They can include molecules such as insulin, erythropoietins or monoclonal antibodies.

That is, instead of drugs made from chemicals synthesised in the lab – these are therapies that are based on biological processes in cells, which we can engineer to help fight cancer

Plant biotechnology is a set of techniques used to adapt plants for specific needs or opportunities. Plant biotechnologies that assist in developing new varieties and traits include genetics and genomics, marker-assisted selection (MAS), and transgenic (genetic engineered) crops.

Plant biotechnologies that assist in developing new varieties and traits include genetics and genomicsmarker-assisted selection (MAS), and transgenic (genetic engineered) crops. These biotechnologies allow researchers to detect and map genes, discover their functions, select for specific genes in genetic resources and breeding, and transfer genes for specific traits into plants where they are needed.

Industrial microbiology or microbial biotechnology   is used create industrial products in mass quantities by introduction of mutations into an organism, gene amplification. The manipulation of organisms in order to yield a specific product has many applications to the real world like the production of some antibiotics, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, solvents, alcohol and daily products.

Bioenvironmental Science  systematic study of the interactions between biological systems and the environment using innovative applied research tools and fundamental research to reduce and solve environmental health risks and dangers caused by human activity in four areas of work radiation, industrial hygiene, environmental protection and emergency response.

Tissue engineering concerned with the development of biological substitutes capable of replacing diseased or damaged tissue in humans. This tissue can be implanted into the human body, with the implanted scaffold eventually being either absorbed or dissolved. It integrates biological components, such as cells and growth factors, with engineering principles and synthetic materials. Artificial skin and cartilage are examples of engineered tissues.

Bioinformatics is a science field that is similar to but distinct from biological computation, analysis of biological data, particularly DNA, RNA, and protein sequences. Bioinformatics combines different fields of study, including computer sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology, statistics and engineering. It is particularly useful for managing and analyzing large sets of data, such as those generated by the fields of genomics and proteomics.
