Biography
D.V. Gokhale, Retired scientist, worked at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune, India for over 40 years. He was Scientist In-Charge of NCIM Resource Center for more than 12 years. NCIM Resource Center is a national facility and microbial culture repository dedicated to isolation, preservation and distribution of authentic and industrially important microbial strains. He published more than 85 peer-reviewed research papers, 6 US patents and 5 Indian patents. He is currently associated with CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory in the capacity of a Professor of AcSIR, New Delhi, India. His research areas of interest are Microbial Strain Improvement, Biomass Conversion, Microbial Diversity and their applications, Enzyme Technology and their purification and characterization. Presently he is working on biomass valorization to value added products. During his career as scientist in CSIR-NCL, Dr. Gokhale handled many projects with successful outcomes in the forms of publications, patents and licensed patents to commercialization of the products. He is a life member of several scientific societies and also a member of American Association of Advancement of Science (AAAS) for more than five years. He is also a member of Americal Chemical Society (ACS) for about three years.
